The design, as with most Krav movements, is intended to be an advancement of casual movements. Hands in a defensive, or offensive, position you ‘push’ your palm towards the face of the opponent. Creating an inward angle that deflects the punch with power but does so with minimal movement. The forearm should be left at a 45 degree angle, just nudging the attack away from your body.
